In case you don't revisit my gardening blog, here is my response to your questions:
Not all hosta varieties are big. I have many of the ones that are a more manageable size. But you could still move the big ones, so long as you dig carefully around the roots. [And water WELL after transplanting.]
For the irises, I dig out the huge clump using a spade, then I cut them apart with a knife, discarding the old spent [dried up] ones and replanting the new growth. I cut the leaves to about a six-inch length before planting. [New leaves eventually replace the cut ones. Again, water well.]
Your daylilies are gorgeous. Strawberry Candy is beautiful and so is Mardi Gras Parade. This summer, I planted a Catherine Woodbury and another wine with yellow margins (the name escapes me at the moment). I am hoping they do well here ...
Hey! You left a comment on my blog, and I thought that this would be the easiest way to answer your question. The paint in our powder bath is Benjamin Moore, and the name of the color is Jamesboro Gold. It has the number HC-88 on the swatch. I really like that color. We also painted our master bath that color. It is one of my favorites!! Hope that helps!
This is the story of the transformation of a bland property in Nova Scotia into what will hopefully be an oasis in the midst of the business of life. I find much joy in gardening and wanted to have somewhere to record the unfolding of my space.
